Fasting
Luke 18:12, "I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get."
FASTING GUIDELINES:
* Eat only raw fruits and vegetables for 1 - 2 days prior to the fast.
* While on the fast consume at least 8 - 10 eight-ounce cups daily of purified water and raw fresh fruit and vegetable juice (no bottle juice).
* Lemon water is an excellent drink during a fast.
* Up to 2 eight-ounce cups of herbal tea (no caffeine) can also be consumed daily during the fast. (Peppermint tea is good during a fast).
* Eat only raw fruits and vegetables for 1 - 2 days after the fast.
* Do not get dehydrated during the fast. The above guidelines contain the minimum amount of liquids to be consumed, during the fast.
FAST TWO DAYS PER WEEK:
* Fasting twice a week is a good way to cleanse the body of unwanted toxins and a good way to maintain normal body weight. Start the fast after supper and end the fast at breakfast on the third day.
* Example Fast: Do not eat anything after supper on Sunday night and then do not eat again until Breakfast Tuesday Morning. This is basically a 36 hour fast (6:00 pm Sunday until 6:00 am Tuesday). Repeat the fast again starting on Wednesday night and end on Friday Morning.
* Example Days to Fast: Monday and Thursday
* Follow the above fasting guidelines
3 DAY FAST EVERY 6 MONTHS:
* A major fast every 6 months will help provide excellent detoxification and rest for all of your bodily organs, thus helping to reverse the aging process and help you live a longer and healthier life.
* The 3-day fast should only be undertaken after you have successfully performed previous one and 2-day fasts.
* Start the fast after Supper and then do not eat anything solid again until Breakfast on the fifth day. (Example: Thursday Evening until Monday Morning)
* Follow the above fasting guidelines.
* If you must have something to eat during the fast, eat a piece of watermelon (always eat watermelon by itself with no additional foods). If you do not want watermelon you can eat one or two Grapefruit instead.
